Mission Statement

Cevea works for promoting the ideological principles of freedom, equality and community.

  • Freedom:
    • Every person shall have the opportunity for autonomy and the freedom to create a life based on its own dreams and capabilities. Every person shall be free from degradative dependency, exploitation, poverty and fear but have the opportunity of developing its own talents and taking actively part in society. Freedom can only be achieved in a community since every person creates its life among and together with others. Without a community based on equality, freedom would only be an absence of humanity and allow the exploitation of society’s weakest.
  • Equality:
  • Every person is unique and has equal worth. Equality is the opportunity for a good life based on equal access to knowledge and welfare. Since each person is born under different circumstances without equal opportunities, Cevea works for promoting equality so no person shall live in poverty and in the absence of a social network. Equality is the main condition for a strong community in which every person can enjoy freedom.
  • Community:
    • No person can survive alone and therefore every person needs to be part of a community. A strong community prioritizes the common good above special interests since no one wins, if another person is left alone and in need. The community is strongest when each person recognizes the equal value of others and takes responsibility for its own part in the community. Strong communities locally, nationally and internationally are the overall condition for freedom and equality for each and all.
Cevea believes that a continually, critical reflection on the above ideological principles is needed in order to continue developing new ideas for society. Cevea works for developing society based on the ideological principles of freedom, equality and community that are necessary of a good life for everyone in society.
